  • Year 8 Ambitions

    A group of students in Y8 took part in a preparation session for their annual University visit. Students explored different careers and discussed the study routes into the different careers. The students will be visiting the Sutton Bonnington Campus in January, where they will receive more support and advice for their future.  

  • SIAMS Inspection 2015

    2nd November 2015

    Queen Elizabeth's Academy was inspected under Section 48 of the Education Act with a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) Inspection led by Jo Fageant on 8th and 9th October 2015. The overall judgement was that the distinctiveness and effectiveness of Queen Elizabeth's Academy as a Church of England academy are satisfactory. The report also contained many good features in all key areas of the inspection.

  • Maun Valley Job Summit

    Queen Elizabeth’s Academy is a part of Maun Valley Citizens, a growing alliance of schools, churches and other community groups in Mansfield and Ashfield, working as a part of Citizens UK – the national home of community organising.  Through working together with other citizens in the area, the students of Queen Elizabeth’s Academy have been working to hold the mayor and local businesses to account on the issue of job opportunities for young people.

  • School to Work Programme

    All Year 12 Queen Elizabeth's Academy students took part in 2 workshops based on Career Orientation and Employability Capabilities on Friday 16 October 2015. At these worshops students learned how to explore their career strengths and also had the opportunity to explore their skills in CV writing.

    They were joined by staff from Lloyds Banking Group and Capita.

  • Year 7 Film Premier

    15th October 2015

    Students, staff and parents had a great evening on Thursday 15 October 2015 at the Old Library Theatre in Mansfield. Students, families and friends were invited to watch the premier screening of the film they had created during the Summer School Programme.

    The film, titled "The Found", was showcased to an enthusiastic audience and they were overwhelmed by the quality of the production.

  • Oakes Holiday Centre

    Students and staff from the Academy enjoyed a second visit to the Oakes Holiday Centre, demonstrating just how much an impression the Oakes has had on our students and staff at Queen Elizabeth’s Academy during the first visit last year.  The visit took place over three days, 12-14 October, and students were given the opportunity to understand and learn more about the Christian faith and develop their team working skills by learning to trust others of whom they did not already know.

  • First Day Back Arrangements 03/09/15

    Arrangements for all students and teaching staff

    8:30am – Year 7 - Meet in the Main Hall.

    8:40am – Year 7 - Welcome and assembly (LBD).

    9:00am – Tutors to escort Y7 to tutor groups.

    9:00am -10:00am – Y7 in tutor groups students will be escorted for biometrics to JRY office (supported by house leaders and attendance office).

    9:00am -11:00am – Y7 with tutors – (ties, planners, timetables, all about me task).

    11:00am – 11:15am – Break time. Years 8 to 11 return to the academy.

  • 6th Form Leavers Meal

    On the 16 July Year 13 held their leavers meal at The Red in Mansfield. They had an enjoyable evening and appreciated the opportunity to say farewell to their tutors and staff that they have known for the last 7 years. The staff at Queen Elizabeth's Academy, wish them well for their results in August and all the success in the future.

  • Year 6 Nottingham Forest Visit

    16th July 2015

    On Thursday 16 July, a group of year 6 students and their parents took part in a visit to the Nottingham Forest football ground. They had the opportunity for a tour and the students recieved a formal presentation to congratulate them on their transition project over the past half term.

  • Closure for the Summer Holidays

    13th July 2015

    The Academy will close to students on Friday 17th July 2015 at 1:15pm for the summer holidays. Students return on Thursday 3rd September 2015 with Year 7 returning at 8:30am and Years 8-11 returning at 11:00am on that morning.
