We were thrilled to welcome author Simon James Green to QEA last week.
Our year 7s are currently reading ‘Finn Jones Was Here’ in tutor, so it was an amazing opportunity for them to hear directly from the author himself.
Simon, a renowned writer of children’s and young adult books, delivered inspiring assemblies to years 7 and 8 in the morning before leading engaging, small-group workshops in the afternoon. Students loved hearing about his journey as an author, the creative process behind his books, and his passion for storytelling.
His novels, including ‘Sleepover Takeover’, ‘Life of Riley’, ‘Noah Can’t Even’ and ‘Boy Like Me’ explore themes of friendship, identity, and growing up – all with his signature humor and heart.
A huge thank you to Simon for joining us here in Mansfield and for giving our students such an incredible experience. It was a pleasure to showcase our historic school and to see the joy his visit brought to our busy academy.
